THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH is the Anglican Church in the United States. Episcopal worship combines liturgical tradition with scripturally based teaching and preaching. Thus, Episcopalians are Christians who are both catholic and protestant. THE HALE DEANERY is made up of the Episcopal congregations in southern-most Illinois. Named for Bishop Charles Reuben Hale, it is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Springfield, HALE DEANERY'S MISSION CHURCHES Five Hale Deanery churches are missions, under direct authority of their Bishop. These churches are located in the following cities: Cairo Harrisburg Marion McLeansboro West Frankfort	Church buildings come and go, but the People of God, whether here on earth or in the Church Triumphant in heaven, continue on as the Body of Christ	News at a Glance Click on an underlined title for further information.
