EFM is The University of the South (Sewanee) four-year program of study for laypersons. The focus is on the Old and New Testaments, Church History and Theology.

In 2008, the Hale Deanery's EFM classes met at St. Stephen's, Harrisburg. Classes will resume at St. Stephen's in September.
